The Young African Policy Research Hub (YAPORH) was among the select policy research think tanks in West Africa chosen to participate in a high-level regional workshop on Agri-Trade Data Analysis for Policy Decision Making, held from 24th to 27th March 2025 at the Envoy Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria.

The workshop was organized by the International Trade Centre (ITC) in collaboration with the ECOWAS Commission and GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) under the ECOWAS Agricultural Trade (EAT) Programme. It brought together experts from national trade ministries, research institutions, and key policy actors to build capacity in the use of agricultural trade data for informed policymaking across the ECOWAS region.

As a youth-led policy research organization committed to advancing inclusive trade and development policy across Africa, YAPORH’s participation underscores its dedication to generating policy-relevant research and strengthening data-driven decision-making, particularly in agricultural trade. The workshop aligns with YAPORH’s mission to bridge the gap between policy research and implementation across key sectors in the African economy.

YAPORH was proudly represented by its Founder and Lead of the Trade Law and Policy Research Team, Ugwu Brendan Chukwuebuka, who actively engaged in the intensive sessions and contributed to regional dialogues on trade integration and agricultural transformation.

On the final day of the workshop, 27th March 2025, he was officially issued a Certificate of Participation jointly signed and presented by representatives of ITC and ECOWAS in recognition of his full engagement and completion of the training.

The Young African Policy Research Hub expresses profound appreciation to the International Trade Centre (ITC), ECOWAS Commission, and GIZ for organizing this impactful and timely workshop. The insights gained will directly inform YAPORH’s future research outputs and advocacy efforts aimed at transforming Africa’s agri-trade landscape.
