International Trade
YAPORH's research efforts encompass offering policy solutions to realize the objectives of the various dimensions of international trade agreements, especially the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, with a particular focus on Gender and Trade, trade in goods, services, investment, tariff liberalization, rules of origin, customs procedures, investment facilitation, competition policy, and dispute settlement mechanisms. YAPORH strongly advocates for the Women and Youth Protocol and E-commerce Protocol of the AfCFTA. Through our research publications, policy dialogues, and collaborations with relevant stakeholders, we aim to contribute to the successful implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.
Digital Economy
We are at the forefront of addressing the critical policy and legal challenges arising from the Digital Economy in Africa. Our organization is committed to harnessing the vast potential of the digital economy for economic growth, with a particular focus on the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence and Fintech. Through our extensive research efforts, we explore various dimensions such as Digital Rights, fintech, cross-border payment issues, and inclusive financial solutions. With our dedication and expertise, we are actively shaping a future where the digital economy and artificial intelligence serve as catalysts for sustainable development and inclusive prosperity across Africa.
Education
We recognize the immense potential for African countries to harness their human capital, but we also acknowledge the urgent need to invest in the education and training of children and young people. Our primary focus lies in conducting research and promoting education-related articles that provide valuable insights and policy recommendations aimed at enhancing the quality of education in Africa. We advocate for investments in education, promoting inclusive and equitable access to quality education, and highlighting the importance of lifelong learning, we aim to contribute to the overall improvement of education in Africa.
Governance
We are committed to addressing key policy and research issues related to politics and governance in Africa. We recognize that the African political landscape is often influenced by factors such as ethnicity and religion, which shape the ideas and ideologies of both African leaders and the youth of the continent. Our primary focus is on promoting solution-driven research and articles that delve into more effective approaches to improving politics and good governance in Africa. By conducting rigorous research and analysis, we aim to identify innovative strategies and evidence-based policies that can lead to positive political transformation.
Health
At the Young African Policy Research Hub (YAPORH), we recognize the fundamental connection between health and overall well-being. We firmly believe that true prosperity cannot be achieved until everyone has access to quality healthcare. Our primary focus is on policy and research issues related to public health in Africa. We are dedicated to generating and promoting research that contributes to strengthening public health interventions and advancing sustainable health solutions across the continent. Through our publications, articles, and policy briefs, we disseminate valuable insights and evidence-based recommendations to inform policy and practice in the field of public health.
Gender and Development
We recognize the equal status of all individuals, women and men, girls and boys, and strive for their harmonious coexistence in a peaceful and secure environment. We firmly believe that by advancing gender equality and empowering women, we can foster a more equitable and prosperous continent for all its inhabitants. Our research aims to identify effective policies that can foster gender parity and empower women economically, socially, and politically. Through our research, we strive to understand the root causes and consequences of gender while offering policy measures to combat gender-based violence and create a safe environment for all individuals.
Climate Change
At YAPORH, we recognize the pressing challenges posed by climate change and its impact on the continent's ecosystems, communities, and sustainable development. We conduct comprehensive research and analysis to understand the dynamics of climate change in Africa and explore effective policy measures and strategies to mitigate and adapt to climate change. We focus on promoting sustainable practices, renewable energy, conservation, and climate-resilient approaches. Through our research findings, we aim to offer policy recommendations that enable effective climate change adaptation.
Law
YAPORH is firmly committed to addressing crucial legal and policy issues surrounding law, justice, human trafficking, cross-border crimes, and other legal matters in Africa. We understand the profound significance of these challenges and their wide-ranging impact on the continent's security, human rights, and socio-economic development. Our research efforts delve into the root causes, trends, and patterns of human trafficking, cross-border crimes, and other legal challenges in Africa. We seek to offer policy measures to human trafficking, cross-border crimes, and other legal challenges, leading to a safer, more just, and prosperous continent.
