Introduction:

The health sector in Nigeria faces a significant crisis as an increasing number of health workers migrate to other countries in search of better opportunities. This brain drain is severely impacting healthcare delivery, leaving many healthcare institutions understaffed and unable to meet the needs of the population. In response, the Nigerian government has introduced new health policies aimed at addressing this issue. However, the implications of these policies require deeper exploration to understand their effectiveness and potential impact on the health sector.

This webinar, organized under the Eyes on Africa Program, a collaborative initiative of the Young African Policy Research Hub and the Ramphal Institute London, will bring together key stakeholders to discuss the implications of Nigeria’s new health policy in curbing the health worker migration crisis. The program is dedicated to addressing developmental challenges affecting Africa and proffering solutions, with the aim of showcasing innovative ideas and solutions to these challenges.
